Is the concept of leisure (schole), present in Aristotle’s Politics still of some importance today? The author of the present article tries to offer a few notes regarding its importance. First of all we can understand better Aristotle’s own perspective regarding the human being. Next we can raise a few questions regarding the philosophical tradition that started with Aristotle and can be traced even to the 20th century (H. Arendt for instance). The study concludes by questioning the actual academic system and the possible relevance of the concept of schole in it.
